41 years ago, The U.S. Bishops issued a Pastoral Statement on Persons with Disabilities, challenging all parishes to find ways to make liturgies, sacraments and parish activities more accessible to and inclusive of those who live with disabilities.
In January 2000, the Accessible Ministry Committee was formed at Guardian Angels to advocate for the needs of people living with disabilities and their families and caregivers and to be a resource for staff and leadership.
Over the next 4 weeks, we will be including prayers and reflections in our liturgies. Information about disabilities and our parish community will be available in our parish bulletin and on social media and on Awareness Visuals throughout our building.
If you or anyone in your family would like to participate in programs or in a ministry and would like to discuss accommodations because of a disability, ongoing medical condition or aging, please contact the parish office at 651-738-2223.
