Meet Deacon Michael Braun

Posted by Michael Braun on

I would like to introduce myself; I am Deacon Michael Braun. As of October 1, Archbishop Hebda appointed me to exercise my diaconate ministry at the Church and Parish of the Guardian Angels.

I was ordained to the diaconate on December 4, 2021. Since then, I have been assigned to my home parish of Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Maplewood.  My home parish was a teaching parish assignment while my class finished our final semester of formation, which ended in June.

My wife Debbie and I have been married for 41 years. We have two adult daughters, Kathy and Beth. Both daughters are married, and we have nine grandchildren.

I am currently retired. I was employed in mechanical engineering at BAE Systems in Fridley for 41 years. My wife Debbie is also retired. She was a materials Manager for 39 years.

Debbie and I love to spend time with our family and our grandchildren. We have an RV, and we go camping every chance we get, (we call it glamping). We also enjoy gardening, hiking, biking, and canoeing. Prayer, both personal and liturgical, the sacraments, and sacramentals are a very important part of our life and the life of my family.

I am grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to serve the people and the parish of the Guardian Angels. I look forward to getting to know everyone and to be part of your vibrant parish community. Please keep me in your prayers and know that I have been praying for you.

Peace and God’s blessings to each one of you.

Deacon Michael Braun
