March Food Share Month Is In Full Swing!
You may remember that each March we have a special focus on what hunger looks like in our own neighborhoods as we concentrate on supporting our local food shelves – Valley Outreach, North St. Paul and Christian Cupboard. In some ways, this work is a bit more immediate here at Guardian Angels since we have recently welcomed the Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf to our grounds. (If you haven’t yet had a chance to check out the new building, you should!)
There are three specific ways we all can help. First, we can donate non-perishable food items here at the parish by dropping items off at the table near the Parish Giving Center. Check out our Parish website for some specific items that are most in need. Secondly, we can volunteer. Our parish is building a new team that will focus in various ways on hunger. Get in touch with Suzanne at the Parish Office or with Mary and Vic Meysenburg at if you want to hear more. You can also volunteer at Christian Cupboard by going to . Either way, consider getting involved. Finally, an important means of support is still financial. Food shelves can buy far more food with the dollars you contribute than you can buy at the grocery store. So don’t forget to share your financial blessings! This weekend’s Plate Collection will go to food shelf support. You can also drop your donation in the collection basket any other weekend – just remember to clearly mark it for food shelf support. Thank you!
