Amplifying Black Voices: Dr. Amanda Kemp

Posted by Suzanne Bernet on

TED Talks are a wonderful invention. Have you seen one? They are great tools for opening your mind and heart to complex issues in a short amount of time. Dr. Amanda Kemp is a racial justice and mindfulness mentor and author of Say the Wrong Thing: Stories and Strategies for Racial Justice and Authentic Community. She has helped over 25,000 people have more open-hearted conversations about racism and compassionate community. Now and again, someone will ask me a version of the following question: “Why does a church have a racial justice team?” If that thought has ever crossed your mind, Dr. Kemp’s work might help. She talks about unconditional love and unconditional acceptance as she talks about racism – and what could be more Christian than that?
