Shifting Between Joy and Lament
Each morning, Healing Our City has been hosting a time of prayer and community as our cities grapple with the killing of George Floyd and the trial of Derek Chauvin. Each time of prayer includes a five minute reflection from a community leader and the day after the verdict was announced was no exception. While reflecting on how he felt when hearing the verdict that day, Darnell L. Moore said this:
I felt like a driver in a vehicle that has been stuck in a traffic jam for so long and after having waited in impatient patience finally begins to move ahead with a deep awareness that further along you might come upon the traffic jam again and again.
