St. Teresa of Calcutta once said that she used to pray to God to feed the hungry and care for the poor but then one day she changed her prayer. She began praying for strength and wisdom. It was then that she heard the call to be the hands and feet of Christ. She writes, “I once believed that prayer changes things. Now I believe that prayer changes me so that I can change things.” St. Teresa shared a powerful truth – it does not diminish the power of God to believe that God needs us.
This week, I invite you to pray for the strength and the wisdom to discern where God is calling you to act. There is a change our world needs that you are uniquely qualified to be a part of. What is that change?
