A New Parish Prayer After Communion
Starting this weekend, our parish will begin praying together at each weekend Mass a special prayer for the Lord, Renew Your Church campaign. We will say it after Communion as a unified act of hope and commitment:
Lord, Renew Your Church by the light of the Gospel. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us so that we might recognize you as the Giver of all good gifts. Bless our Lord, Renew Your Church campaign. May it strengthen the bonds that unite us and bring fruitfulness to our parishes, schools and pastoral efforts. Through the intercession of Mary, Mother of the Church, and Saint Paul, our patron, may our generous response give witness to Your love, Your power and Your plan. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. AMEN
This prayer invites each of us to place the success of this important Archdiocesan effort into God’s hands, asking that our participation may help renew and strengthen the Church we love—not only here in our parish, but across the Archdiocese. By praying it together after Communion, we join our gratitude for the gift of the Eucharist with a renewed dedication to serve and build up the Body of Christ.
We will continue to pray this prayer together at every weekend Mass for the rest of the year. May it keep us mindful that true renewal begins in prayer, and that every act of generosity is a response to God’s grace already at work among us.
Let us entrust this campaign, our parish, and our Archdiocese to the loving care of Mary, Mother of the Church, and St. Paul, our patron. May God bless our efforts to build for today and renew for tomorrow!
