Support for Options for Women's-East Update
Dear Parishioners,
Guardian Angels has always been incredibly generous in supporting Options for Women East, whether through our Mother’s Day flower sale, Father's Day candy bars, or our annual playpen drive for essential items like clothes and diapers.
Many of you have asked how your donations are utilized. Options for Women East provides all of its services to expectant mothers free of charge. To provide transparency, here is a breakdown of what these services cost the center to supply:
- Pregnancy Test: $100
- Limited Ultrasound: $250 ($500 for entire pregnancy)
- OB Appointments: $150 per visit ($1,500 for entire pregnancy)
- Tests, Labs, and Medical Supplies: $50 ($200 for entire pregnancy)
- Nursing and Doula Education: $50 per session ($600 for entire pregnancy)
- Lactation Services: $100 per session ($200 for entire pregnancy)
- Safety and Childbirth Classes: $50 per class ($600 for entire pregnancy)
- Mental Health Appointments: $50 per session ($200 for entire pregnancy)
- Post-partum Care: $150 per visit
- Material Assistance (Diapers, clothes, etc.): $100 per family ($400 for entire pregnancy)
- Family Follow-up & Insurance Assistance: Included in prenatal care package
Thanks to your support, we raised $906 after expenses from our Mother’s Day flower sale. This amount is enough to help two mothers choose life after seeing their ultrasounds.
Our candy bar sale is coming up this Father’s Day weekend, and all proceeds will go toward supporting these vital services. If you would prefer not to purchase candy or if we run out, we welcome free-will offerings.
