Health & Wellness: May 2026
May is recognized as National Meditation Month
Meditation provides significant, evidence-based enhancements to our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. There are several different ways to meditate. This practice can be a quiet time of reflection, it can also be a meditation in motion while spending time in nature or walking a labyrinth.
There are many advantages to meditating on a regular basis. Meditation can: lower blood pressure, improve sleep quality, strengthen the immune system, reduce stress, and be a time to speak to God and a time to ‘listen’ to where God is guiding you.
If you are new to meditation it is good to start slowly. A meditation can be 5 or 10 minutes. The time given to meditation often lengthens as people begin to feel the benefits. Meditation is something anyone can do. There are excellent resources online
that will give you more information.
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Psalm 19:1
