BeFrienders Ministry - a Listening Ministry: Compassion, Confidentiality, Non-judgmental Presence, and Caring vs. Curing.
Pope Francis encourages us all to do this – accompany people in the vulnerability of life’s journey, striving to understand their
perspective.
The BeFriender Ministry uses the gifts of amazing individuals who have gone through intensive training to be able to compassionately listen and be present with someone in their times of struggle. Perhaps you may feel called or gifted in the fine art of compassionate listening, and would be willing to be trained to be this caring presence for someone who may need them for a brief time. We are looking for more people who see themselves as good listeners, who do not necessarily feel the need to fix people, and who would be open to being trained as BeFrienders, in this caring ministry of Guardian Angels. We will try to make both daytime and evening times available for training and for monthly meetings for practicing BeFrienders.
