Justice and Outreach Ministries
In light of Catholic social teaching and the Catholic tradition of taking care of the least among us, the Justice and Outreach Commission dedicates itself to education, advocacy, and outreach in areas of charity, social justice, and peace-making. At Guardian Angels, we provide many opportunities to live the commandment to “love our neighbors as ourselves” (Mt 22:39).
We invite you to join us
Shelter the homeless: We shelter families experiencing homelessness at Hope for the Journey Home, onsite in our parish house.
Feed the hungry: Whether it is working in our parish’s Food Shelf Garden, or serving dinners at the Dorothy Day Center with our Loaves and Fishes team in St. Paul, we’d love to have you join us.
Engage with a Christian Community beyond our own culture: We’ve had a sister parish relationship for more than 30 years with folks from Tuestepe, Nicaragua. Through this relationship we communicate and grow our community experience within Guardian Angels and beyond, so that Guardian Angels’ members and others may benefit from and be included in our relationship.
Promote human dignity: at all stages from conception through natural death with our Respect Life team
We also challenge ourselves to become more aware, educated, and act to change the systems and structures that perpetuate the cycle of poverty and to work for peace in our neighborhoods, country, and world. (Peace and Justice Action).
