You may have seen notes in our parish bulletin about GA Responds, our parish team that is working on a multi-faceted approach to the scandal of abuse and cover-up in the Catholic Church. As the staff liaison to the team, I am continually both in awe of and blessed by the parishioners who are leading this. As the team continues to meet, I am struck by many things . . . this week, though, one thought in particular comes to mind. We might say to ourselves, “There is nothing we can do to move a worldwide Church toward much at all that will change things for the better.” Spending time with this leader team might just change your mind about that!
This week, I invite you to consider a boulder in your world that just won’t move. Even if you can’t seem to chip away at it on your own, will you trust in the power of community to make a difference?
