The Liturgy Commission has been creating a new Prayer Corner in the back of the Worship Space. Several months ago we replaced carpet with tile matching that on the altar and installed new votive candle stands.
The next phase is to build an archway that is secured to the floor that will provide a place to display the beautiful Guardian Angels icon that was commissioned, designed and paid for by parishioner Don Nauer. The artist lives in Stillwater and she will be “touching up” the icon before we hang it in the Worship Space. A short explanation of the different images in the icon will be available in the Prayer Corner. It has been displayed in the Historic Church since 2000 and I am sure many of you have never seen it. As you can see in the photo it is a beautiful piece of art.
The new archway is being built by parishioner Karl Bozicevich. Tom and Ann Wald are donating the wood from Shaw/Stewart Lumber. We are very grateful to them for helping us complete this project. We are hopeful that it will be completed well before Christmas.
The Liturgy Commission is hopeful that this second votive candle area, the other being in the Historic Church, will provide a place for prayer and a means of remembering those who need our prayers.
