MUSIC MINISTRY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Here are some of the many ways you can participate in music at Guardian Angels. For more information about any of these ministries, contact Roger Stratton

The Assembly
That means all of us! The most important choir is the choir of all the baptized, uniting in song and praise. All of our ministers serve first and foremost in the Ministry of the Assembly. As St. Augustine said, “Whoever sings well, prays twice.”
Seraph Singers
Our parish choir of adults and teens (grade 6 and older) rehearses Thursday evenings at 7:00, and sings approximately three masses per month, September through May. The choir sings in a wide variety of styles, from chant to gospel.
Treble Choir
This choir, for children in grade 2 or older, rehearses on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 6:45, and sings at mass approximately once a month, October through May. The Treble Choir sings for major holidays, including the afternoon mass on Christmas Eve.
Liturgical Ensemble
This ensemble of singers and guitarists (adults and teens, grade 6 and older) leads music at mass about three times a month, and practices once a month. The music is more contemporary than our other groups.
Orchestra
Our parish orchestra plays for special occasions. Instrumentalists should have two years of playing experience.
Cantors
Experienced singers with a strong sense of hospitality are invited to help with this important ministry, leading the congregation in sung prayer. Cantors rehearse individually with the music director as necessary, and meet occasionally as a group.
Instrumentalists
Pianists, guitarists, and players of orchestral instruments are needed at various times during the year. They are scheduled more or less often depending on their preferences.
Special Occasions
For certain liturgies, such as Christmas Midnight Mass, the Easter Triduum and the Fall Festival, there are expanded choirs and instrumental groups. This is a good opportunity for those who are usually too busy to participate in the parish music program. Watch the Angel News and bulletin for more information.
