Welcome to Guardian Angels Loaves and Fishes Ministry!
Guardian Angels serves the Second Sunday of each month at Catholic Charities Dorothy Day Center located near the Excel Energy Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Downtown St. Paul.
There are four Guardian Angels teams, each serving three times per year on the Second Sunday of every month:
- Team #1: January, May, September – Leads: Mark McKeown, Judy Scheider
- Team #2: February, June, October – Leads: Maggie Hickel, Mary Lambert
- Team #3: March, July, November – Leads: John Babcock and Open
- Team #4: April, August, December – Leads: Cathy Muggee and Chris Judge
Each team has two co-leads. The co-leads divide the work, one calling/scheduling volunteers and the other shopping (or ordering) food.
General Serving Schedule:
- 2:00/2:15 – 4:20: Prep Food and Prep Cafeteria
- 4:20 – 4:30: Prayer
- 4:30 – 5:15: Serve
- 5:15 – 5:30/5:45: Light clean up and depart
The co-leads orchestrate duties & timing with the volunteers. Some volunteers stay the entire shift (~2:15 – ~5:30) and others come for only a segment of the time (to prep food only or serve food only). For more information on schedule, rules and roles of a volunteer click here.

Directions from Guardian Angels: Take 94 West to 6th Street exit. Follow 6th Street past Landmark Center. As the road curves to the right, you will see Excel Energy Center on the left and Dorothy Day on the right.
Volunteer parking is in the back – push button at back door to be buzzed in.
