March 2012 minutes and April 2012 agenda M/S/A with addition of BFW Offering of Letters.
Financial Report . Both the Logos financial report and “Bob’s” report were distributed to members. There was one correction to the report, $5,256 of tithing has been allocated, leaving a balance of $3,947. Revenues and expenditures are tracking well. Bob’s Report has enterprise accounts on the top, followed by JOC income and then expenses. FY2012 budget is given and percentage of budget. Net income from enterprise accounts are also given.
Plate Collections YTD are 6% over YTD for 2011. There was an error in the check sent to Christian Cupboard; it including both their allocation ($8,076) and Valley Outreach’s ($844). Christian Cupboard has been asked to return the check or send a refund of $844.
Old Business
Tithing . It was moved to allocated $500 to Angel of Mercy, Generous Spirit (Department of Indian Work), Eastside Learning Center, and Jeremiah Project. This leaves a balance of $1,947 to be allocated by July 1, 2012. M/S/A. Bob was asked to get documentation from Angel of Mercy and how money would be used. Documentation for other projects are on file.
FY2013 Budget. Status quo budget, except $3,000 higher contribution from Sister Parish for Kairos, slightly higher loaves and fishes, and more realistic enterprise accounts (Works of Human Hands, Coffee etc). The expense budget is just under $3,000 higher, $45,600 vs. $43,575. The parish share of the expenses are estimated at $10,920 or about the same as when I started in 2004.
Update Job Description. Bob to prepare a draft and send it to Chris and Karen. Together they will update the job description. GA is currently accepting applications & resumes. We have received 3 and anticipate another 3-4. It is expected that the interview process will take place in May and that the person will be hired in June with a July starting date. Bob anticipates retiring in early August, so there will be an opportunity for overlap and training. The date for the Commission summer/retirement party for Bob is July 17 at the Parish House, 6 – 9 pm.
New Business
Proposal for Parish House … Project Home “Shelter” … Karen summarized the proposal for an overnight homeless shelter at GA, possibly using the Parish House. It will be presented to PPC in April. There was support from JOC. … Coffee and Conversation, Greg was not here. The proposal of PJAM is to host a “coffee and conversation” at the Parish House on the first Sunday of the month, 10-12:30 pm. Coffee would be sold for $1. There could also be a “store” for GA’s books and CDs, along with other religious items for sale. JOC supports. Could include other Sundays, except 2nd Sunday of month, for Documentary/Video Hour or Ministry Hour on other Sundays.
Volunteer Recognition Dinner on May 23. Please remind your volunteers about this dinner in May.
