Volunteer Opportunities at Guardian Angels
Loaves and Fishes
Help prepare and serve the evening meal at Dorothy Day Center on the 2nd Sunday of the Month. Join a team and help out 3 times per year. We’re also looking for parishioners that are willing to prepare to lead (coordinate teams) in the future. Contact Chris or Jim Judge, 731-3305.
Christian Cupboard
Represent Guardian Angels on the Board of Christian Cupboard and Justice and Outreach Commission. Christian Cupboard is the area food shelf serving our parish. It is located at Woodbury Lutheran Church. Other opportunities include assisting with delivering food from Guardian Angels to the Food Shelf and volunteer opportunities at Christian Cupboard. Employment Ministry

Giving Center
Volunteers are needed to manage the Giving Center, organizing donations and ensuring prompt pickup by recipient organizations. Also, volunteers are needed to organize a “Caring and Sharing” Board that would list job opportunities and items to be donated to families in need.

Crossroads Elementary Needs Volunteer Tutors!
The St. Paul Public Schools Foundation through it’s Crossroad Elementary Believe and Achieve tutoring program provides academic support for students who are in the academic middle; who are right on the cusp of grade-level proficiency in literacy and math. Their one-on-one and small group tutoring benefits these students.

Volunteer Career Consultant
Volunteer and deliver individual career/employment consulting to WomenVenture clients in St Paul. Meet with clients individually on career/employment planning and development. Assess client’s situation and work to determine options and plans. Requires Bachelor’s degree and experience in related field along with excellent interpersonal skills. They request a three-month commitment.
Project Coordinator for Computer Hour
Help HandsOn Twin Cities English language learning neighbors learn about computers. Assist in the computer lab at CAPI USA as they learn and practice simple computer skills in Minneapolis. A Project Coordinator is needed to lead the group of volunteers in the computer lab, communicate with those interested in volunteering, and act as a liaison between HandsOn Twin Cities and CAPI USA.
Adult Day Program Assistants - Volunteer
HSI’s (Human Services Inc.) adult day program, Circle of Friends, is designed for older adults and people with physical or mental impairments. Volunteers are needed to assist with or lead a variety of activities such as exercises, crafts, games, music, or singing. They are located in Oak Park Heights and request a 4 hour time commitment 8:30 to 4:00 M-F.
Advocacy Services Volunteer
Volunteer at the Sexual Violence Center in Minneapolis and provide outreach to Hennepin, Carver and Scott Counties systems persons. Schedule and attend meetings, assist with advocacy, and provide crisis counseling and other crisis services as needed. Must go through a free 43 hour volunteer training and attend a 3 ½ hour advocacy mini-training.
