Crafters

Purpose
We are a fundraising group and the sales from the Christmas Boutique and Spring Sale are used for various projects in and around the Church. Some examples of our support are:  the purchase of two benches in the Little Angels Cemetery, a prayer bench in the Historic Church and helping to pay for the outdoor directional signs. Our sales during the Fall Festival go directly to the Church.

The GA Craft group sponsors Prayer Quilts, which are provided at no cost. Prayer Quilts are hand-tied quilts with the gift of prayer for those persons in physical, emotional or spiritual need. Very simply, a prayer quilt is a quilt that is made with love and tied with prayers. Each knot tied into the quilt represents a prayer that is offered specifically for someone in need of those prayers. There is no charge for this ministry to the person requesting a quilt, the person receiving a quilt or for tying the prayer knots.

Membership

Anyone interested in crafts is invited to join. There are no dues.
Attendance at the meetings is not required; our members come when it fits into their schedule. If you would like to learn a craft, e.g. knit, crochet, embroidery, quilting, needlepoint, a current member will be able to teach you.

Meetings

We meet on Wednesdays all year from 10 am to 2 pm. We spend our time working on individual projects of our own choosing and those which we enjoy doing.
Members do not have to provide their own materials for projects; GA Crafters have a large selection of materials for use by members.

We stop for a lunch break (bring your own lunch; coffee provided) and lots of socializing is done during in our meeting time. Words that have been used to describe our time on Wednesdays are:  fun, supportive, friendly, accepting, fellowship, open to new ideas and making new friends.
