Communion
In collaboration with other area parishes, Guardian Angels parishioners take Communion to patients at Woodwinds Hospital, 1925 Woodwinds Dr., Woodbury, and at Pillars, Hospice Residence, 6025 Upper 35th St. N., Oakdale.
We have been part of this ministry since the hospital opened in August, 2000.
WHEN: Guardian Angels parishioners take Communion to patients/residents every Tuesday and the 2nd Sunday of the month.
Parishioners wanting to participate but unable to take Communion on these days assist on other days, as needed.
HOW OFTEN: Once a month, either on a Tuesday or the Second Sunday.
SCHEDULING: One of our Befrienders calls our parish Communion ministers to arrange the monthly schedule.
PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS: Woodwinds Hospital requires those taking Communion to be part of their Eucharistic Ministers Program, which offers support and ongoing education. Depending on your schedule, two options for meeting times are offered: either as a morning group or the evening group. Orientation sessions at the hospital are provided.
