Worship Commission

PURPOSE
The Worship Commission of Guardian Angels Parish is responsible for the study of liturgical principles, the training of liturgical ministers and the preparation of worship experiences that enhance the spiritual life of the parish and foster growth in faith. The Worship Commission encourages parishioner input. All parishioners’ concerns and suggestions are discussed and carefully considered in light of the worship experience and sacramental life of the parish community and the liturgical norms of the Roman Catholic Church.

FUNCTIONS
The commission meets regularly to:
•Maintain continuity of purpose
•Advise the Liturgy Team which consists of: Director of Liturgy Director of Music Coordinator of Initiation Ministries Deacon Associate Pastor Pastor
•Prepare seasons and celebrations
•Be accessible to the parishioners, other commissions and the Parish Pastoral Council
•Continue their education on theological and liturgical principles and praxis
•Discuss and carefully regard parish input
•Research and report to the Parish Pastoral Council studies, workshops and current liturgical standards and praxis

MEMBERSHIP
There are currently eight parishioners serving on the commission. Also attending meetings are the director of liturgy, the director of music, the coordinator of Initiation Ministries, the deacon, a representative from the Parish Pastoral Council and a "floater" (1st year member) from the Council. Meeting dates are the first Tuesday of each month (except July).
